WHITBY, ON — February XX, 2020 – The City of Pickering has installed and implemented circuit level monitoring technology at its City Hall building, becoming the first municipality in Canada to bring the CircuitMeter Real Time Energy Management (“RTEM”) platform into their operations.
The CircuitMeter RTEM platform – supplied and installed by Elexicon Group – will enable Pickering officials to monitor and understand City Hall’s energy consumption in greater detail, down to individual pieces of equipment. This helps to reduce operating costs and identify irregularities in energy consumption. The system also allows officials to create real-time energy management strategies for peak building performance, and will accurately measure the savings generated by retrofit projects and other energy initiatives.
“As a national leader in sustainability, the City of Pickering is proud to partner with Elexicon Group in becoming the first municipality in Canada to incorporate the RTEM platform,”
– Mayor Dave Ryan.
“With this innovative new platform installed at City Hall, we can make better informed energy management decisions in reducing the City’s energy consumption, costs and greenhouse gas emissions. Ultimately, we want to inspire our residents and businesses to be more mindful of and strategic with their respective energy consumption.”
In May 2019, Elexicon Group – in their mission to imagine energy as opportunity – announced they had signed a Channel Partner Agreement with CircuitMeter, acting as a turnkey provider of their advanced metering and real-time energy analytics to municipal, commercial and industrial clients.
“As an entrepreneurial endeavor, Elexicon Group focuses on providing a wide range of energy solutions to our customers,” – President and CEO James Darrach
“With the evolution of smart cities and benchmarking, we know that CircuitMeter and their innovative technologies will enable our clients to make informed decisions when reducing their energy consumption, leveraging renewable energy to lower operating costs and taking control of their operating expenses.”
“CircuitMeter is excited to see the City of Pickering showing leadership among Canadian municipal governments with its adoption of the RTEM platform, and would like to congratulate Elexicon Group for championing advanced energy efficiency solutions that will help the region in its efforts to competiveness and fight climate change,”
– Paul Mertes, President and CEO of CircuitMeter INC.
